Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most from buyers evaluating a new cleaning contractor, along with the compliance and risk questions their teams ask.
Buyer Questions
Our crews are independent franchise owners, not hourly employees. Candidates are interviewed and tested before being accepted, and only those who prove their ability become franchise owners. This gives us a pool of experienced operators we can match to a facility's specific requirements, rather than assigning whoever's available.
Yes. Our franchise owners bring years of experience across a range of facility types, including larger industrial buildings. Because we draw from a pool of experienced operators rather than a single crew, we can match a facility's specific requirements to the right service provider.
There are two levels of escalation. The franchise owner is first — they want to keep your account and will work directly with their crew to resolve the issue. If that doesn't fully address it, our regional office is the next level: we support the franchise owner in resolving the concern properly, and if a crew genuinely isn't the right match for your facility's requirements, we can bring in a different one.
Before your crew begins, the franchise owner walks the facility with you in detail. Any comments or requirements you raise are recorded and provided to the franchise owner along with a detailed service schedule, so nothing discussed during onboarding gets lost.
Typically, a new contract starts with the standard 30-day notice given to an outgoing contractor. In situations requiring a faster transition — for example a sudden cancellation due to theft or other issues with an existing crew — we've started service with as little as a day's notice.
No. Our service agreements aren't locked in — you can cancel at any time with 30 days' notice.
Compliance & Risk Questions
Our Commercial General Liability policy provides $5,000,000 per occurrence and in aggregate, including $5,000,000 in products/completed operations coverage and $1,000,000 in employer's liability. The policy also includes pollution liability coverage up to $1,000,000. A certificate of insurance is available on request.
This is rare. Our franchise owners are known for the opposite — crews have found jewelry and cash while cleaning and left them on the contact's desk with a note explaining where it was found. That said, our coverage includes employee dishonesty (crime) insurance up to $500,000, in addition to our general liability coverage.
Every franchise candidate goes through our interview and testing process before being accepted, in addition to standard legal screening: WSIB coverage, WHMIS training, police background checks, and verification of proper legal business registration.
The FacilitySignal platform gives you visibility into service without adding work on your end. Electronic restroom cleaning logs are QR-code based, timestamped, and exportable as PDF or CSV — Ontario's amended Health and Safety Act made this a requirement effective January 1, 2026. A location-specific QR code also lets your employees report a concern directly to the crew leader, so issues get addressed at the source instead of going through your facilities manager first. A client portal lets you view invoices and payment history, pay by credit card, and communicate directly with your service provider.
